Iraqi security force hunt for Islamic State terrorists

Nineveh (IraqiNews) Spokesman for the Mnistry of Defense announced, on Monday, apprehending two members of the Islamic State group, west of Mosul.

The Spokesman said in a press statement that the 9th regiment of Nineveh Police Command, and based on arrest warrant, apprehended two members of the Islamic State group in Mamoun neighborhood, west of Mosul.

He further added that one of the terrorists was working at the so-called Diwan al-Seha (health directorate), while the other worked at Diwan al-Jund (Soldiers Directorate), during IS control era on thr city of Mosul.

During the military intervention against IS, Iraqi and Peshmerga forces made unsuccessful attempts to retake the city of Mosul in 2015 and again in 2016.

In July 2017, Iraqi Prime Minister arrived in Mosul to announce the victory over IS, and an official declaration of victory was proclaimed on 10 July.
