Anbar (IraqiNews) Leader of al-Hashd al-Shaabi in Anbar Province, Qatari al-Obeidi, announced Tuesday launching an extensive offensive to search the areas located north of the city of Ramadi.

Obedi said in a press statement that security forces from Jazeera Operations Command and the 7th brigade of the Emergency Police, backed by al-Hashd al-Ashaeri and Army Aviation, launched an extensive operation to search the areas surrounding Tharthar Lake, north of Ramadi, to pursue the remaining Islamic State terrorists.

Security forces launched the operation based on accurate intelligent information and closed the area completely, and started a search operation in areas surrounding Tharthar lake, to pursue any insurgents, he added.

Obeidi also revealed that the operation is ongoing based on the plan drawn by the security leaders, while pointed out that the offensive is part of the fourth phase of operation “Will of Victory”.
