Security forces liberate last ISIS stronghold in Dhuluiya

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Friday, a security source in Salahuddin province announced, that the security forces have managed to purge al-Hawija, which represents the last stronghold of the ISIS organization in Dhuluiya, south of Tikrit.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The combined force of the Army and federal police backed with the people and fighters from Jabour and Albu Eifan clans managed on Friday evening to liberate al-Hawija in Dhuluiya (80 km south of Tikrit) from the control of ISIS.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “Al-Hawija was considered the last stronghold of ISIS in Dhuluiya,” adding that, “Families of Albu Eifan began to return to their homes in the liberated area.”
