 Security forces liberate Thubat District in Ramadi

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – On Tuesday, a security source in Anbar Province stated, that the security forces managed to liberate al-Thubat District in Ramadi, while raised the Iraqi flag on one of the district’s buildings.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The Anti-Terrorism forces, in addition to the army’s eighth brigade, managed to liberate al-Thubat District in the center of Ramadi, while raised the Iraqi flag on one of its buildings,” adding that, “This battle has inflicted heavy casualties and equipment losses on ISIS.”

He added, “The clashes were accompanied by an attack carried out by the army’s eighth brigade on ISIS headquarters,” pointing out that, “The security forces had imposed full control over al-Thubat District.”

Earlier today, a security source said, that a police force managed to cross street 60 and enter the center of Ramadi to participate in the liberation operation of the city.

Noteworthy, Anti-Terrorism division announced today, that its forces entered the center of the city of Ramadi, while noted that its forces are going to purge all the districts of the city.

Meanwhile, Head of Iraqi Parliament’s security and defense committee Hakem al-Zamili announced, that the security forces surrounded the center of Ramadi, in order to enter it the soonest.
