Security forces to start liberation operation of Heet Island

( Anbar – On Sunday the leadership of al-Jazeera and al-Badiya Operations in Anbar province announced the launch of a military operation to liberate Heet Island west of Ramadi (110 km west of Baghdad) from ISIS control.

The commander of Anbar Operations, Maj. Gen. Ali Ibrahim Dbon, said in a brief statement received by, “Today, joint security forces belonging to the army, police and tribal fighters carried out, before noon, a security operation with the participation of International Coalition Aviation for the liberation of Heet Island (70 km west of Ramadi) from ISIS control.”

Dbon added: “The security forces shelled ISIS gatherings at the entrances to Heet Island,” indicating that, “The next few hours will witness the announcement of liberating areas in Heet Island.”
