(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – A source in the province of Kirkuk said on Thursday, that the security intelligence director of Kirkuk has been killed in an armed attack carried out by unknown militants in the center of Kirkuk (250 km north of Baghdad).

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Unidentified gunmen opened fire at noon today against the vehicle of the Security Intelligence Director of Kirkuk Aydan Hussein Rifat, while passying in the commercial street in the center of Kirkuk, resulting in his death on the spot. ”

The source, who asked anonymity, added: “the security forces rushed to the scene and transported the victim to the forensic medicine department and opened an investigation to know who stands behind it.”
