Sniper fire kills, wounds 2 soldiers in southern Baghdad

( Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday, that one soldier was killed and other one was wounded by a sniper fire in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by, “This afternoon, a sniper targeted an army checkpoint in Arab Jabour area in southern Baghdad, killing one soldier and wounding one another.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while carried out a raid to search for the perpetrators.”
