Strict security measures imposed in Najaf on background of Sunday bombings

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The Security Committee in Najaf province imposed strict security measures in the province in anticipation of any possible bombings to take place on Sunday.

The head of the Committee, Loai al-Yasiri, stated to IraqiNews.com “The security Committee met with the security officials and the Police Commander and discussed the defects of the security plans implemented in the province.”

“The intelligence efforts were intensified and some checkpoints were deployed at the entrances and the outlets of the province,” he added.

Earlier, Kirkuk, Basra, Salah al-Din, Dhi-Qar and Nineveh provinces witnessed car bombings and explosions that resulted in killing and injuring dozens of citizens.
