Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A civilian was killed, while two people were wounded in an armed attack and a bomb explosion in Baghdad, security sources said on Friday.

Speaking to AlSumaria News, a police source said “a bomb went off, this evening, near stores in al-Taji region, north of Baghdad, leaving two people wounded.”

Troops, according to the source, who preferred anonymity, “transferred the wounded to hospital for treatment.”

Moreover, a security source a civilian was killed in an armed attack, west of Baghdad.

“Unidentified gunmen killed a civilian near his house in al-Radwaniya region, southwest of Baghdad,” the source told Baghdad Today website.

Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country. The group still has dormant cells, through which it carries out attacks, across Iraq like it used to do before 2014.

A total of 75 Iraqi civilians were killed, while 179 others were injured due to acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in September 2018, according to casualty figures by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
