Traffic police officer killed in car bombing southwest of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source at the Interior Ministry announced on Thursday, that a traffic police officer was killed in the explosion of a bomb that was emplaced inside his car southwest of Baghdad.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “An IED that was emplaced inside a car belonging to an officer in the traffic police exploded, this morning, in al-Amil neighborhood southwest of Baghdad, resulting in his death on the spot and causing material damage to his car.”
The source, who asked to remain anonymous, added: “the security force rushed to the scene and transported the body of the dead man to the forensic medicine department, while opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and the party that stands behind it.”
