Tribal forces and Iraqi Army clash with ISIL west of Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, an IraqiNews.com security source in Nineveh province said that armed clashes broke out between the Iraqi Army and elements of ISIL in the district of Tal Afar, west of the province.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Today, the Iraqi Army, supported by tribal forces, clashed with ISIL fighters in the district of Tal Afar, west of Mosul.

The source, who asked not to be named, said, “These clashes are still continuing,” adding that “the outcome is not known until now.”

On June 15, 2014 five people were killed and 35 were wounded due to the fall of mortar shells at different districts of Tal Afar in Nineveh province.
