 U.S. considers defeat of ISIS in Ramadi as powerful blow

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, U.S. Embassy in Baghdad considered the control of the Iraqi forces over the government complex in Ramadi as a “major blow” to the ISIS, while affirmed that the U.S is committed to support the Iraqi government in defeating the organization.

The embassy said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “We congratulate the Iraqi security forces on their progress during the fierce battles to retake the city of Ramadi,” adding that “The control of the Iraqi security forces over Anbar government complex in Ramadi is a powerful blow to the ISIS which continues to lose lands. ”

The statement also added, “The United States boasts the leadership of the international coalition, which provides assistance to the Iraqi forces,” stressing “[Its] firm commitment to continue supporting the Iraqi government until the defeat of ISIS.”
