URGENT: 41 dead, injured in syncronized suicide car bombings in Sadr City, Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday a source in the Iraqi police said that the outcome of the bombings of Sadr City in eastern Baghdad amounted to 41 dead and wounded.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com that “the explosion of booby-trapped cars, which took place in Sadr City, today, resulted the killing of seven people and 34 others wounded.”

The source, who requested not to be named, said that “the injured people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead bodies were rushed to the forensic medicine department.”

A security source said, earlier in the evening that the two cars bombs stationed in front of the market in Sadr City eastern Baghdad exploded simultaneously, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of people.
