URGENT: Iraqi Ministry of Defense announces full liberation of Baiji

Baiji (IraqiNews.com) On Friday, the Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of Baiji, north of Tikrit, from the control of organization of the so-called the Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fully, indicating that they had dismantled all IEDs.

The military correspondent for the Ministry of Defense said to IraqiNews.com “The security forces managed to liberate Baiji, 40 km north of Tikrit, of terror completely and to dismantle all improvised explosive devices.”

For its part, Iraqi state television quoted the commander of Salahuddin Operations, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi as saying that “the security forces liberated Baiji completely.”
