(Iraqinews.com) al-Anbar – On Sunday, Joint Operations Command called the citizens of Ramadi (110 km west of Baghdad) to evacuate the city within 72 hours, emphasizing that the Iraqi air force dropped leaflets guiding them to safe roads.

Joint Special Operations Command said in a brief statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Iraqi air force dropped leaflets on the center of Ramadi urging the citizens to leave the city within 72 hours and guiding them to safe roads.”

Anbar Province has witnessed fierce battles on the back of the control of ISIS elements over most of the province’s cities including Fallujah and Ramadi as well as western regions.

  1. don’t militants or other bad guys also leave the city when they see and read those leaflets? I can’t imagine they stick around and wait for troops to roll into town.

  2. ISIS tells the residents that if they try to leave then ISIS will kill them as ISIS wants to use them as human shields.
