Wanted man arrested, landmines seized in Missan

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Policemen on Tuesday arrested a wanted man in central Amara city and seized amounts of landmines in a separate operation in north of Amara, deputy chief of local police said. “Police forces managed to arrest a person wanted for perpetrating killing and kidnapping operations against civilians and security forces in central Amara,” Colonel Sadeq Abdul Aziem al-Hulw told IraqiNews.com. “Another police force seized seven bags of landmines in deserted houses in al-Safha and al-Safieha region in Kamiet district in north of Amara,” he added. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SH (P) 1
