(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday the US embassy in Iraq announced that the international coalition had trained more than 15 thousand Iraqi security elements since 2014, stressing the efforts to support Iraqi forces to defeat ISIS.

The Office of US Embassy Spokesman said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Since 2014, the members of the coalition led by the United States have trained 15,892 Iraqi soldiers and police elements in more than 15 locations in Iraq,” adding that, “The training focused on urban warfare, mine clearance and dealing with improvised explosive devices, in addition to rescuing in the battlefield and other vital skills to support the Iraqi security forces to defeat ISIS.”

Noteworthy the United States is leading an international coalition against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, while more countries aim at participating in this coalition, especially, after the growing risk of ISIS.
