 Iraq, France discuss improving bilateral relations in Paris

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – During his one-day official visit to France, Mohammed Al-Sudani, the Prime Minister of Iraq, met with Elisabeth Borne, the Prime Minister of France.

The major subject of discussion at the meeting was how to improve bilateral ties between France and Iraq by increasing collaboration in the energy, oil, and gas investment sectors. Projects related to transportation, culture, and the restoration and preservation of artifacts were also discussed at the meeting.

Along with Iraq’s Chairman of the Commission of Integrity and the Mayor of Baghdad, the meeting was also attended by Iraq’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Oil, Industry and Minerals, and Culture.

Following the discussion, the two parties had a signing ceremony for a heritage-related memorandum of understanding . Both the French Minister of Ecological Transition and the Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities signed the agreement of collaboration.

Additionally, a statement of intent for the construction of the Sinjar Hospital was signed. Both the French Minister of Ecological Transition and the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs signed on behalf of their respective countries.
