Iraqi Airways receives a Boeing 737 MAX in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – At Baghdad International Airport, the first Boeing 737-8 MAX was handed over to Iraqi Airlines. By the end of April this year, Iraqi Airways should have five more of the aircraft model in its possession.

Iraqi Airways has placed a total of sixteen 737-8 MAX aircraft orders with Boeing as the national airline carrier works hard to increase its fleet and final destinations both domestically and abroad.

Furthermore, Iraqi Airlines has purchased ten Boeing 787 Dreamliner units, with the first two aircraft scheduled to arrive later this year.

Iraqi Airlines also bought a Boeing B737-10, however it won’t be delivered until between 2024 and 2027.

Iraq’s national airline has also recently received four Airbus A220-300 aircraft, and a fifth aircraft is scheduled to arrive in March 2023.
