UAE’s Chamber of Commerce visits Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – A group comprised of prominent businesspeople and investors from the United Arab Emirates was received by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani. Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, led the delegation.

The Prime Minister emphasized that their presence in Baghdad is a reflection of the strong and positive ties between Iraq and the UAE. Al-Sudani stated a common intention to look into fresh prospects for cooperative economic action and fortify current alliances.

Furthermore, Al-Sudani went on to say that productive investments in Iraq’s petrochemical and energy industries are signs of the country’s capacity for growth and prosperity.

During Al-Sudani’s February 2023 visit to Abu Dhabi, the Iraqi Prime Minister addressed methods to strengthen political, diplomatic, economic, and commercial ties with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

As bilateral non-oil trade reached roughly $17.5 billion in 2022, the two nations will also attempt to increase levels of trade exchange and build on the significant increase seen in trade between Iraq and the UAE over the previous years.
