Iraq’s basketball coach resigns

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Secretary General of the Iraqi Basketball Central Federation said that Iraq’s team’s coach for seniors on Monday submitted his resignation for health purposes. “Fikrat Toma (Christian), who was assigned to train Iraq’s basketball team for seniors to prepare for their participation in the Arab tournament to take place in Tunis by the end of this month, resigned from his position for health reasons,” Khalid Najem told IraqiNews.com. “Toma was wounded by a gunshot wound last April,” he said. “Toma cannot be with the team during the tournament, as he needs rest in order to heal,” he added.
