Para-Olympic Committee shares in largest delegation in Asian Games

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Para-Olympic Committee, specialized in the Disabled Sports, has decided to send the largest sport delegation in its history, since its establishment in 1982, to share in the Asian Games Session, scheduled to take place in China’s Quanzu city next December, in the name of “The Sport Climax Federation,” comprising 132 persons. “The plan to contribute in the Masters Session had began since the first month of this year, when the Para-Olympic Committee laid its annual program through local and foreign camps, as well as the allocation of necessary funds to cover the costs of the contribution,” The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Para-Olympic Committee, Fakhir Ali Al-Jamaly, told IraqiNews.com. Jamaly also said: “we had laid down a study by the General Secretariat and Internal Relations, covering the main lines and some details regarding the formation of committees, main mission of which is to accomplish the said preparations, chiefly aiming to hold all the proposals for the participation in the said session.” “The Para-Olympic Committee has named Nawfal Abdul-Sattar, as the Chairman of the Iraqi Mission, due to the specifications that enable him to hold the position, in addition to his experience, along with the appointment of the Committee’s Secretary-General to follow up the affairs of the mission with the sports federations, in coordination with the Chairman of the Para-Olympic Committee,” he added. Jamaly also said that “agreement has been reached for the participation of 80 outstanding sportsman, who had been registered with the committee, organizing the sportsmen able to participate in the Asian Session, whilst the total number of the Iraqi mission shall be 132 players, coaches, administrators and media reporters.” SKH/SR 28
