Designs for 2 new cities in Basra achieved – Governor Designs of two new cities in Basra achieved, Governor

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Basra‘s governor announced today that the local government “succeeded” in designing two new cities in the province, the first on its west side, and the second on the southern part. Governor Khalaf Abdul Samad told IraqiNews.com that the first shall be 35 km away from the old city, near the industrialized area and the second in Khor Abdulla, which will consist of 100,000 housing units. The costs of the designs reached 11 million dollars, to be implemented in stages with foreign investments, he added. Khalaf disclosed that there is an intention to make a tunnel between the two cities. RM (TP)/SR 489
