Telecommunication Minister: My relation to Allawi resulted in accepting my resignation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The resigned Telecommunication Minister and the member of the Iraqiya Slate, Mohammed Allawi, stated “There is a political tension over accepting my resignation by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, due to my family relation to the head of the IS, Ayad Allawi and facing financial and administrational corruption.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said ” We have faced challenges, during our correct performance in running the ministry, by Maliki because we could not do anything and he used all his authorities to ruin the performance of the ministry in addition to my fighting the corruption where I submitted my resignation according to that.”

“Maliki’s acceptance of my resignation is due to his believe that the ministry will be under his supervision where the telecommunication sector has many earnings and it is possible to achieve huge amounts of money by its projects,” he added.

“The different decisions makers within the ministry always resulted in hindering our performance where a female advisor asked me to shift her from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research due to the assassination attempts in that ministry where I accepted that, but after developing her relation with Maliki, she began to dominate the important institutes in the ministry,” he concluded.
