Abadi condemns Paris terrorist attack

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi condemned a terror attack on a satirical weekly in Paris, calling on the international community to unify efforts in the war against terrorism.

“The terrorist attack that took place today in the French capital Paris is condemned by Iraq, which suffered so much of terrorist groups. This confirms that terrorism threatens all countries of the world and not only Iraq,” according to a statement issued by Abadi’s office recieved by IraqiNews.com.

Abadi stressed in his statement “on the need for concerted efforts of the international community in the fight.”

“Iraq is currently is engaging in a fierce war against terrorism, which is one, whether in Iraq or in France or the rest of the world,” he said, adding that all the world should support Iraq in this war by drying up the sources of terrorism.

Earlier, the Iraqi President Fuad Masoum condemned Paris attack and urged the international community to consolidate its efforts in the war against terrorism, according to a statement issued by the president’s office.

Earlier on last Wednesday, three masked gunmen attacked the Paris office of French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 and seriously wounding several others before fleeing./End/
