US-led coalition launches 12 more airstrikes

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The US-led coalition against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) launched 12 more airstrikes on militant positions on Tuesday and Wednesday.The Combined Joint Task Force issued a statement saying the latest airstrikes took place over a 24-hour period, hitting targets inside Syria and Iraq. Three strikes inside Syria hit a tactical unit and destroyed five fighting positions near the northern Kurdish town of Kobane.Nine strikes inside Iraq hit targets along the country’s western side. 

Strikes near Fallujah targeted and struck two bomb factories, a weapons storage facility, and two vehicles.

Three strikes near Sinjar hit a tactical unit and destroyed four vehicles. One strike targeting a group of fighters near Ramadi was reported “ineffective.”

Over 2,500 airstrikes have been launched against ISIS since the campaign began in 2014. /End/
