11 solar-powered water compounds in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Eleven water compounds powered by solar energy have been installed in Karbala, to provide drinking water to the province’s villages. “The compounds’ capacities vary between 1, 3, and 5 cubic meters per hour,” Engineer Hayder Abdilabbass, the Karbala water director, told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the compounds were installed in less than two months, but he did not mention the cost of installing the units. The holy city of Karbala lies 110 km southwest of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 1
