Iraqi Government calls KSA to clarify reasons behind beheading 7 Iraqi prisoners in Rafha Prison

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Government called the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to clarify the reasons behind implementing death sentences against seven Iraqi nationals detained in Rafha Prison.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by IraqiNews.com cited “We have been assured that the Saudi authorities implemented the death sentences against seven Iraqis where six of them executed in Rafha prison while the seventh was executed in Damam prison for charges related to drugs trafficking.”

“We condemn these executions which are implemented as Iraq prepares to sign an agreement to exchange the prisoners between the two countries,” the statement added.

“We call the Saudi authorities to stop these executions for Iraqi prisoners and we call for clarifications for such sudden implementation of such number of executions,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, the Saudi authorities beheaded seven Iraqis who involved three Iraqis from Nassiriya city.
