Yawar: Peshmerga Ministry requests MoD to stop transferring, investigating Kurdish officers

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Peshmerga within the Kurdistani Regional Government clarified the details of its meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Defense within the Federal Government on last Sunday.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com quoted its Secretary General, Major General, Jabbar Yawar, as saying “On last Sunday, the Supreme Joint Committee held its meeting with the attendance of the key officials of both sides.”

“We requested the MoD to stop transferring the Kurdish officers or summoning them for investigations without proper justifications,” he added.

“Then the attendance of the meeting started discussing the results of the former meetings and reviewed the disputed points,” he stressed.

“The mechanism of appointing the security joint point and the way of withdrawing the forces of both sides from the disputes areas were two pending issues to be followed up later in the next meetings,” he concluded.
