Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, received a phone call on Thursday from the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, where they discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Presidency.

The statement explained that both leaders stressed the close and historical relations between Egypt and Iraq.

During the call, the two sides discussed several Arab and regional issues of common interest, in addition to the Egyptian-Iraqi efforts to enhance the frameworks of tripartite cooperation with Jordan, the statement explained.

The Egyptian President affirmed his country’s firm support for Iraq’s security and stability, and his keenness to strengthen the frameworks for joint cooperation in various fields, the statement illustrated.

Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s keenness to promote the frameworks of bilateral cooperation with Egypt, expressing his appreciation of the vital Egyptian role in strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab action in facing the current crises and challenges in the region, the statement added.
