Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The American University at Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) and Miller College of Business at Ball State University (MCOB) have officially partnered to provide AUIB-affiliated students with the opportunity to pursue an online MBA from Ball State.

A pilot cohort for the academic year 2023–2024 will be a part of this joint initiative when it launches in August 2023. There will be a maximum of six students in the trial cohort. The number of students in succeeding cohorts might change.

The agreement of intent for the collaboration was ceremoniously signed on the Ball State campus in Muncie, Indiana by Geoffrey S. Mearns, President of Ball State University, and Michael Mulnix, President of American University – Baghdad.

The main lectures for the Ball State/AUIB program will be delivered online to the AUIB campus by Ball State professors. AUIB professors will be there to assist, providing local context and applications, elaboration and explanation, office hours, and academic services in an effort to strengthen the relevance of the subject in the Iraqi environment.

“With its highly experienced professors—who have broad international experience—working with our faculty in Baghdad, we are confident our joint program with Ball State will promote Iraq’s economic development and diversification into a broader economy that creates more jobs for young Iraqis,” said President Mulnix. “Those Iraqis will have the skills needed to make Iraq competitive on the global scene.”

“This collaboration between our universities represents a great opportunity for Ball State to provide a premier education to AUIB students,” said President Mearns. “This partnership provides an exciting opportunity for members of our University community to make new connections and to build new relationships with the people of Iraq.”
