Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Austrian ambassador to Iraq, Andrea Nasi, expressed on Tuesday the Austrian government’s desire to take part in the Development Road project.

Nasi’s remarks took place during a meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, on the day of his appointment as his country’s resident ambassador in Baghdad, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The meeting addressed different aspects of bilateral ties between the two countries, strategies to strengthen relations to serve common interests, and the transport agreement that will be signed between Iraq and Austria.

Al-Sudani emphasized the significance of Austria’s appointment of a resident ambassador in Iraq following the country’s 30-year withdrawal of diplomatic representation, emphasizing that this move will strengthen relationships between the two countries and increase prospects for collaboration.

The Iraqi Prime Minister welcomed the openness of Austrian companies to establish partnerships with the Iraqi private sector.

The Austrian ambassador stressed his government’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Iraq through participation in development plans and infrastructure projects, including the Development Road.
