Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Chairman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), Haider Makiya, confirmed that Baghdad and Erbil are planning to hold a promising investment forum, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The spokesperson of the NIC, Muthanna Al-Ghanimi, mentioned in a statement that a delegation headed by Makiya met with officials in the Board of Investment in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to discuss mutual cooperation, investment laws, and ways to attract local investors.

The statement mentioned that the meeting addressed carrying out projects in the sectors of tourism, trade and industry.

Al-Ghanimi confirmed that the two investment commissions are preparing to hold an investment forum to present the available opportunities in both the Kurdistan region of Iraq and the Iraqi governorates.

The head of the KRG’s Board of Investment, Mohammad Shokri, expressed appreciation for the initiative of the NIC, which promotes investment relations and serves the interests of Iraq, making the country one of the most developed countries in terms of construction and economy.
