Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Cristiano Ronaldo scored on Wednesday the winning goal of the Saudi football club Al-Nassr FC against Iraq’s Al-Shorta SC in the semifinal of the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023 at the Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha, Saudi Arabia.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the match to help his team qualify for the final of the tournament.

Al-Nassr will play the winner of Al-Shabab and Al-Ittihad in the final, hoping to win the tournament for the first time in its history.

Al-Shorta recorded six attempts to score a goal, compared to 15 attempts for Al-Nassr.

Al-Shorta defeated Qatar’s Al-Sadd 4-2 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals, while Al-Nassr defeated Morocco’s Raja Casablanca 3-1 to go to the semifinals of the Arab Club Champions Cup under the leadership of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Al-Shorta is one of Iraq’s most successful clubs and is a six-time champion of the Iraqi Premier League.

Al-Shorta were crowned the inaugural Arab Club Champions Cup winners in 1982 and are one of only two Iraqi clubs to have won the tournament.
