Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The German Ambassador to Iraq, Christine Hohmann, confirmed on Thursday work on projects to build facilities to utilize associated gas in Iraq, along with an announcement of energy development and investment initiatives.

Hohmann told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Siemens is carrying out an important project in Iraq, indicating that Germany is working on other projects to develop the energy sector. She added that the associated gas in Iraq is a resource that could be put to practical use.

The German Ambassador to Iraq said that Germany has giant automobile manufacturers, such as Mercedes and BMW, adding that the implementation of such projects requires an environment with specific standards that can be created in the next stage in Iraq.

Hohmann elaborated that Germany is preparing for projects that utilize associated gas in Iraq, in addition to other initiatives that will be put forth through agreements between Iraqi and German companies.

The German diplomat illustrated that Germany is trying to make a lot of efforts to create suitable conditions for setting up major projects in Iraq.
