Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, revealed on Saturday that it will resume flights between Bahrain and Iraq.

The Gulf Air Group Chairman, Zayed Al-Zayani, praised the launch of direct flights between Bahrain and Iraq and emphasized the importance of this milestone for the airline’s network expansion, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

In 1974, Gulf Air launched its first flight to the Republic of Iraq. Flights of Bahrain’s national carrier to Iraq continued to the Iraqi towns of Baghdad, Najaf, and Erbil until 2020, when flights were suspended due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The announcement of the flight schedule will take place following the conclusion of all formal procedures.

Gulf Air has also extended its worldwide network by introducing direct flights to Guangzhou and Shanghai, two significant Chinese cities.

With the goal of meeting the increasing demand and establishing new channels for cooperation, trade, and tourism, the new routes will increase connectivity between Bahrain and China.
