IFA coordinates for Gulf Cup security plan success

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The head of the Security Committee of Iraq Football Association (IFA), General Abdul Rahman Al-Askari, confirmed on Monday that there is coordination between the Iraqi security forces and the organizing committee for the success of the 25th Gulf Cup scheduled to start in Basra next Friday, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Askari elaborated that the work is ongoing with coordination between the Security Committee headed by the Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, and the Iraqi security forces, to make the plan prepared for the 25th Gulf Cup, which will start in a few days, successful, INA mentioned.
Al-Askari also explained that buses have been provided to transport the masses from different places in Basra to the stadiums where the matches will be played and vice versa, INA reported.
Al-Askari clarified that an organizing company will be responsible for tickets sales and the electronic entry process of fans to the stadiums.
Al-Askari added that the entry process to the stadium will be through the main gate, passing through a ticket inspection machine, and in case the ticket is not valid, the person will be removed immediately from the main gate.
The 25th version of the Arabian Gulf Cup is scheduled to be held between January 6 and January 19, 2023, in the Al-Menaa Olympic Stadium and Basra International Stadium.
The tournament will be held with the participation of eight teams divided into two groups. The first group includes Iraq, Oman, Yemen and Saudi Arabia, while the second group includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.
The opening match will be between the national team of the hosting country, Iraq, and Oman at 6:45 p.m. local time in Basra International Stadium, and later on the same day, the national teams of Saudi Arabia and Yemen will play their match scheduled at 9:30 p.m.
