Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, sponsored on Sunday a partnership between the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and the Spanish League (La Liga), according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s press office.

The statement indicated that the step aims to hold the Iraqi Premier Football League for 2023–2024.

The partnership agreement was signed by the President of the IFA, Adnan Darjal, and the President of the Spanish League (La Liga), Javier Tebas.

Al-Sudani commended the step that aims to promote and develop football activities in Iraq, pointing out that the Iraqi government is keen to develop all sports institutions in Iraq.

Tebas valued the cooperation with the IFA and emphasized that efforts will be exerted for the success of the step, which he described as greater than just football, to broaden cooperation towards revitalizing sports in Iraq, the statement illustrated.

Darjal clarified that the partnership with La Liga will contribute to developing talented Iraqi football players and sponsoring the Iraqi Premier Football League.
