Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi government announced the allocation of three billion dinars (approximately $2.3 million) to provide Palestinians in Gaza with medicines and food.

A statement released by the Iraqi government mentioned that the Iraqi Council of Ministers approved the Ministry of Finance’s allocation of three billion dinars to the Iraqi Red Crescent Society from emergency reserves to send humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza.

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society announced earlier that it sent 32 tons of humanitarian aid to Baghdad International Airport to be sent to the people in Gaza in coordination with the Egyptian authorities.

The Iraqi Red Crescent Society mentioned in a statement that humanitarian aid will be delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

Following the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, Israel established a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and continued heartless bombing, pushing almost half of Gaza’s 2.3 million population from their homes and leading to a humanitarian catastrophe as food, fuel, and water supplies are critically low.

According to Palestinian sources, more than 3,000 people have been killed, mostly women and children, and over 12,500 have been injured because of Israel’s assault on Gaza.

Israeli officials said that 1,400 people have been killed and 3,500 have been injured in rocket launches and terror acts by Hamas.
