Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi delegation participating in the Syria peace talks (Astana Process talks) stressed the need to promote dialogue between the parties concerned with the Syrian crisis, according to a statement made by Ahmed Al-Sahaf, the spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Al-Sahaf explained that the head of the Iraqi delegation confirmed Iraq’s supportive stance towards Syria through the Astana Process talks, which aim to promote dialogue between the parties concerned with the Syrian crisis and provide the necessary solutions.

The Iraqi official added that the Iraqi delegation highlighted the importance of finding a solution to the issue of Syrian refugees in neighboring countries and encouraging cooperation between all parties.

Diplomats from Russia, Turkey, and Iran met in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, on Wednesday for the 20th time this week to discuss the Syrian situation on the ground, a roadmap to rebuild Turkey-Syria ties, Israeli attacks, and other issues, according to Reuters.
