Iraq declares three days of mourning following US strikes in Anbar

Baghdad – In the aftermath of US airstrikes in the western region of Anbar Governorate, specifically in Akashat and Al-Qaim, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has declared a three-day period of mourning across all state departments and institutions in Iraq.

The airstrikes, targeting Iran-linked militias, have left a toll of 16 individuals dead and 25 others injured, comprising both armed personnel and Iraqi civilians.

This incident underscores the complex consequences of military interventions and emphasizes the pressing need for diplomatic resolutions to regional conflicts.
