Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, discussed on Tuesday the possible use of national currencies in trade exchange with Iran during his meeting with the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Abbas Aliabadi.

Beside trade exchange, both sides talked about the possible use of national currencies in financial transfers to have more flexible transactions between the two countries, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The meeting addressed ways to enhance economic relations between the two countries and promote partnerships in different sectors.

The Iraqi Prime Minister stated that due to the industries’ significant influence on fostering domestic growth, Iraq is prepared to expand opportunities for bilateral collaboration in the petrochemical and fertilizer sectors.

The Iranian Minister conveyed the greetings of the Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, and his emphasis on the need to go on with successful economic integration initiatives to be able to address regional and global economic difficulties.
