Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The committee supervising the activities of the Arab Gulf Cup football championship revealed that the Emirati singer, Ahlam, and the Iraqi singer, Majid Al-Mohandes, will perform in the closing ceremony of the 25th Gulf Cup on Thursday in Basra International Stadium, according to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA).

Al-Mohandes arrived in Basra governorate on Tuesday evening, NINA reported.

The committee previously chose the Iraqi singer, Aseel Hameem, the Iraqi singer, Ali Jassim, and the young Iraqi singer, Bassam Mahdi, to perform in the 25th Gulf Cup closing ceremony, NINA explained.

The committee took exceptional measures to conclude the championship in the best possible way, and to make the Iraqi efforts successful.

Member of the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and head of the media committee for the 25th Gulf Cup, Ahmed Al-Musawi, elaborated that the closing ceremony of the championship will be unprecedented.

Al-Musawi said that the efforts focused on the crowning ceremony, as a special stage has been prepared, so that the crowned team will be celebrated in a way that has never been seen in the previous editions of the championship.

“The concert will be quick and simple. I prefer not to reveal the identity of the singers who will perform, so that it remains a surprise for the Gulf fans,” Al-Musawi added.

Al-Musawi revealed that the preparations for the closing ceremony began before the championship kicks off, confirming that the committee is working to ensure accurate implementation of the action plan, to be as successful as the opening ceremony.

The committee also placed 14 giant screens in different places in Basra governorate to give the fans the opportunity to watch the final match in certain gathering points dedicated for the fans.

Al-Musawi also mentioned that the organizing committee decided to invite former Iraqi football stars to attend the final match, in recognition of their great achievements in the Iraqi football.
