Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, announced on Sunday his country’s refusal that Iraq’s territories be used as a headquarters or a corridor to threaten the security of neighboring countries, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

During his meeting with an American delegation on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue meetings that are taking place in the Bahraini capital, Hussein stressed that importance of resorting to dialogue to face challenges, especially security challenges, in a manner that preserves Iraq’s sovereignty and enhances the security and stability of the region.

“Iraq is moving towards openness to all countries, especially to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and is looking forward to building balanced relations based on common interests, preserving sovereignty, and non-interference in domestic affairs,” Hussein said.

the American delegation affirmed the United States’ keenness to work with the government and people of Iraq, renewing Washington’s commitment to supporting Iraq in its war against ISIS terrorist groups and defeating them, the statement added.
