Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, confirmed on Tuesday that the government will include the scientific knowledge required for artificial intelligence in school curricula.

Al-Sudani’s remarks took place during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Deemah Al-Yahya, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The Iraqi Prime Minister explained that the step aims to qualify the Iraqi workforce to compete globally in the future labor market.

Al-Sudani indicated that the government plans to employ artificial intelligence in sectors such as irrigation, agriculture, and health.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also noted his country’s need to digitize its banking industry and move toward a digital economy.

The Secretary-General of the DCO interacted with the proposal of the Prime Minister and invited Iraq to join the Digital Cooperation Organization.
