 Iraq, UK discuss private sector contribution to Iraqi economy

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, and the UK Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson-Richardson, discussed on Monday the contribution of the private sector to the Iraqi economy, according to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry.

The statement mentioned that the Iraqi Finance Minister received Richardson and his accompanying delegation in Baghdad.

Sami stressed that the relations between Iraq and the UK are strong and witnessing continuous development and growth in various fields, especially in finance, economy and investment, the statement clarified.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance the relations between the two countries through the development of mutual cooperation in the banking sector and the contribution of the private sector to the national economy, in addition to the promising investment opportunities in Iraq, the statement illustrated.

The UK Ambassador to Iraq expressed his country’s aspiration to promote constructive cooperation with Iraq by providing all forms of technical support to contribute to sustainable development projects in Iraq.
