Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Following the drone attack that targeted a US base on the Jordanian-Syrian border, Iraq condemned the strike that led to the death of 3 US soldiers.

In a statement released on Monday, the Iraqi government expressed its worry over the serious security developments in the region and said that it is monitoring the ongoing escalation, particularly the latest attack on the Syrian-Jordanian border.

Regarding the confrontation that has been raging between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 7, the Iraqi government demanded a stop to the current outbreak of bloodshed.

The government confirmed its readiness to work on developing fundamental guidelines for interaction that would keep the dispute from spreading.

Moreover, it warned that these developments threaten regional and international security, undermine efforts to combat terrorism and drugs, and put trade and energy supplies at risk.

The warning was issued as US President Joe Biden threatened to take action and pointed the finger at Iraqi groups supported by Iran.
