Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Wednesday that the Iraqi delegation visiting Washington will discuss two basic economic issues, the spokesperson of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, said.

The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, arrived in Washington DC this afternoon heading a high-level delegation to promote bilateral relationships between both countries in a set of economic, environmental & energy domains according to the strategic framework agreement, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington DC, mentioned in a statement.

“The delegation will hold discussions in Washington with the American side. The discussions will focus on supporting Iraq’s monetary policy and exchanging financial and banking experiences to enhance the Iraqi government’s measures related to the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar,” Al-Sahaf mentioned.

“The focus on our economic diplomacy puts us on a more reliable and balanced path in our foreign relations, and we feel international support for the Iraqi government’s policies,” Al-Sahaf explained.

“The national response diplomacy depends on the government program, and we are the voice of the Iraqis with Iraq’s partners and friends,” Al-Sahaf added.
