 Iraqi, Dutch FMs discuss US, Iranian attacks on Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, said on Tuesday that he discussed with his Dutch counterpart, Hanke Bruins Slot, the Iranian and US attacks on Iraq.

Hussein’s remarks took place in a joint press conference with Slot in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister explained that the Iraqi community in the Netherlands plays an important role in political, social, economic, and cultural life in Dutch society, adding that he discussed ways to promote bilateral relations between the two countries.

Hussein indicated that Dutch companies operating in the oil, water management, and agriculture sectors can play an important role in helping the Iraqis rebuild the economy and rehabilitate the infrastructure.

The two sides reviewed military relations, the role of the Netherlands in the international coalition, and the Dutch continued support for the Iraqi forces in its war against terrorists.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister elaborated that he discussed with Slot the attacks carried out by Iran and the United States on Iraqi territory.

The two sides also talked about the security situation in the region, in addition to the need to continue supporting the Palestinian people, stop the ongoing war on Gaza, and increase humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip.
