Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, emphasized on Tuesday the importance of having a unified stance to stop Israel’s ongoing violations against the Palestinian people.

Hussein’s remarks took place during his meeting with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, where they discussed the latest developments in Palestine, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

Hussein highlighted the need to have a unified Arab and Islamic stance and to urgently take action to prevent escalation and stop the continuous violations of the Israeli occupying forces against the Palestinian people.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister called on the Arab countries to play a decisive role in implementing international resolutions that guarantee the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Hussein renewed the Iraqi government’s position regarding the developments in the Gaza Strip, indicating that remarkable diplomatic efforts are ongoing to prevent the possible displacement of the Palestinian people to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
